Sundown Sessions:
Our Wednesday evenings have been slowly growing and attracting all ages! We now have 59 people who come along regularly! Of these, 32 consider A New Way their primary faith community, and 23 have no connection to Narara Valley Baptist Church. We have also had multiple people join our community who wouldn't necessarily call themselves Christian, but they certainly enjoy the new pickleball court and are very attentive during the talk.
Recently, we have had some families come along, so Emily has created colouring packs! The children enjoyed having something special made just for them... and they also got a lollipop to go with it. A few adults in the room were very jealous and were eyeing off the lollies too!
One last thing: we're moving our start time to 7pm, which should make it easier for commuters and anyone working or studying late. The talk and communion will finish by 8pm, but as always, you’re welcome to stick around and hang out at the pool table or jam in the music corner for as long as you like.
Henry Kendall Gardens - ANW For All Generations!
On Wednesday morning, A New Way had the privilege of helping lead devotions at Henry Kendall Gardens. It was a wonderful time of connection as we explored the meaning of the name "Jonah," which translates to "Dove." We reflected on what it means to bring peace to the world around us—like the dove that carried the olive branch, and Jonah, who brought the message of God to the people of Nineveh.
We're looking forward to heading back soon and continuing to build relationships with the residents, who are full of wisdom and were excited to hear about the vision of A New Way.
Graduation Woooooo!!
A massive congratulations to all the students who graduated this week! Special shout-out to our A New Way reps: Kundai, Levi, Henry, Caitlyn, Kye, Lucas, Ayrlia, Annabel, Carys, and Immy. We’re so proud of you and will be keeping you in our prayers as you tackle the HSC.
This Wednesday, we’re celebrating you! Evan will be sharing a message about new seasons and change, so make sure to bring your friends along as we congratulate you all in person.
In The Community
A New Way would like to introduce 'Insight High School Ministries', a charity that brings light, hope, and truth into high schools by employing dedicated Christian Youth Workers. These workers collaborate closely with principals and welfare teams to meet various needs in the school community—whether through welfare programs, Christian small groups, Bible seminars, or simply sharing the Gospel in both word and action.
We’re excited to share that two members of A New Way are on staff at Insight, alongside many other faithful employees from other faith communities. We ask our community to pray for them as they work within local schools!
Dylan Bladergreon has recently started at Lisarow High School and is eager to make a meaningful impact. The school is especially interested in Dylan forming a social justice group focused on addressing practical needs within the local community. Dylan is also committed to forming a Christian lunchtime group creating a safe place for students to learn about faith. Meanwhile, Emily Thompson has been working at Narara Valley High School, using her creative talents to help young female students discover their identity and self-worth.
Additionally, Lewis is both on the board of Insight and is currently completing a contract that has enabled Insight to find new staff, board members, & school partnerships. Lewis has also been involved in coordinating Christian seminars to share the Gospel with students.
As Insight continues to grow, they are seeking more regular financial supporters to sustain this vital ministry. If you feel led to contribute, please contact their treasurer, Debbie Blain, at debbieblain@outlook.com. Your support can make a lasting difference in the lives of young people.
Community Chaplaincy
We have some incredible news—Evan Lawrie has been appointed as our community chaplain at A New Way! Evan will be working one day a week to run a weekly community group that supports individuals and families in their spiritual, emotional, relational, physical, and mental health, promoting holistic well-being. We’re praying this will also be a space where people can encounter God and all He has for them.
Evan comes with a wealth of experience, holding an Advanced Diploma in Biblical Studies, completed in New Zealand in 2005. He’s spent five years as a full-time associate pastor (Churches of Christ) and has extensive experience in pastoral care and youth mentorship. More recently, he’s been a youth mentor, running Creative Mentoring Programs in community spaces, juvenile justice centres, schools, refuges, and youth centres across the country.
The primary focus will be on reaching individuals aged 18-40, particularly those who may not feel drawn to traditional church services or even our Sundown Session at A New Way.
Prayer Requests
We’ve recently applied for two grants—one from the Central Coast Council and another from the Vincent Fairfax Foundation. We're praying these applications are viewed favourably.
Some of our members are still searching for the meaning of life, and we pray that A New Way can help them find that meaning in Jesus.
Jed Leadbitter and his family are currently in Perth, where he’s competing in the national shooting championships... yes, shooting! We’re praying he hits his targets and that the family has safe travels.
Alice Rosee is off to Canada! We give thanks for her incredible contributions to A New Way and pray for this exciting new chapter in her life. We'll also be having a "blessing & prayer" service on the 23rd of October.

A Final Thought From Excel
Hi my name is Excel! I came to discover A New Way through a close friend of mine and decided to show up to one of the nights they had. A New Way is amazing because it removes the pressure that regular churches tend to have whereby you are expected to show up, listen to a sermon and adhere to a Sunday routine that tends to stay the same each week.
ANW teaches the Gospel In a way that invites a younger demographic to ask questions and discuss concepts of the scriptures that would normally be taught to you as set in stone. It is also because so many younger people come to this church that I feel comfortable and safe to open up and learn about God. So if you're free on a Wednesday night at 6:30pm, came along and have a cuppa and learn about God in a safe environment.
Peace & Favour,
Numbers 6:24
